Message from the City Manager:

It’s been an honor and privilege to work for the City of Madeira Beach since January of 2012.  Previously, I served as a Deputy County Administrator (2004-2012) and a County Administrator (2000-2004) in two different counties in the State of Wisconsin. Prior to these appointed positions, I served in an elected capacity (County Commissioner and City Council Member) while earning my double undergraduate degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse, WI.

Madeira Beach is a full service city including its own Fire Department, Municipal Marina, and Sanitation Department.  Currently, Madeira Beach is experiencing a flurry of development with new hotels, restaurants and mixed-use developments being built throughout the City. A new ten million dollar City Centre, including a new city hall, fire station, and recreation center, is underway.  The project began in January 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by early 2015.

Madeira Beach is located at the center of a set of barrier islands located west of Tampa on Florida’s west coast.  The City is home to John’s Pass Village which is touted as the largest free attraction on the west coast of Florida.

We welcome our visitors and tourists to visit our vast array of beaches, parks, and fun activities for each and every member of the family.

The City Manager is the only contracted employee in City Hall and answers to a five-member Board of Commissioners led by a Mayor.  The City Manager is responsible for all of the administrative responsibilities of the City, acts as a policymaker with the Board of Commissioners, and implements any new policy and local legislation approved by the Board.  He supervises the following departments:  Finance, Community Services, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Community Policing, and the Fire Department.  He manages and coordinates all City projects while maintaining and presenting a budget by the approval of the Board of Commissioners.
