Transportation & Travel
Need a ride? Here are some ways you can get from here to there!
The PSTA (Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority) provides regular service to and from the Madeira Beach area. On our island, bus stops are located at frequent intervals along Gulf Boulevard on both the east and west sides.
Bus stops with shelters are located:
- At the northwest corner of 129th Avenue and Village Boulevard in John’s Pass Village
- On the east side of Gulf Boulevard and 140th Avenue
- On the west side of Gulf Boulevard across from 143rd Avenue
- On the west side of Gulf Boulevard across from Madeira Way
These locations have a map of Pinellas County (except in John’s Pass) showing the numbered bus routes color coded. All have a chart showing the times of stops along the beaches, specifically for Madeira Beach, at 150th Avenue and Gulf Boulevard, and in John’s Pass Village.
Call the PSTA at (727) 530-9911 for more detailed information on routes, schedules, fares (ask about discounts for senior citizens, students and people with disabilities), and demand-response service.
Treasure Island Transit
The city of Treasure Island, our municipal neighbor to the south, operates a local city transit service which uses John’s Pass Village as its northernmost stop. If you are interested in traveling south from John’s Pass Village, the Treasure Island Transit bus stops regularly at the shelter on the northwest corner of 129th Avenue and Village Boulevard. Visit Treasure Island’s site for schedules and fare information.
Look in the yellow pages of your telephone directory under Taxicabs. Many companies specifically mention beach service.

Planning a celebration for someone special? Would a luxury limousine enhance those plans? Or would you just like a night out without having to worry about who does the driving?
There are many limousine companies ready to make any occasion a memorable one. Check the yellow pages under Limousine Service.
For a pleasant ride through some of our residential areas or to visit some local spots such as John’s Pass Village or our local library, a bicycle is the perfect way to go. To see Madeira Beach from a different perspective, rent a bike from one of the local companies and pedal away! If you’re a visitor, check with the management of your accommodations for a bicycle rental location or find one under Bicycle Rentals in the yellow pages. Please ride safely and wear a helmet (mandatory for persons sixteen years of age and under).
Madeira Beach prohibits hitchhiking.
