Stormdrains flow directly into Boca Ciega Bay and without treatment in some areas.
Ways to help prevent pollution are:
- Contain Yard Debris with landscape barriers (Mulch, shell, rock, leaves, dirt, tree debris)
- DO NOT PLACE YARD DEBRIS ON THE ROAD OR CURB FOR PICKUP. Place all debris on your property and it will be picked up on Wednesday with all yard waste.
- Recycle grass clippings on your laws/mulch bins or bag and place out for pickup with your regular garbage pickup. DO NOT BLOW GRASS CLIPPINGS INTO THE ROADWAY.
- DO NOT POUR/WASH ANYTHING DOWN STORMDRAINS
- Paint, Chemicals can be disposed of at Pinellas Counties Chemical collection Center or mobile collection events

- Anything other than rain down the drain is an illicit discharge and will be fined accordingly

- Chlorine pools- turn off chlorinator and allow for levels to drop to zero (0)
- Once chlorine is at 0 please place hose in the grass to allow for more filtration
