Hurricane Debby Clean Up

Posted on August 6, 2024

The City of Madeira Beach is continuing to clean up, we got very lucky with some minimal damage. Please see below for an update on damage and cleaning efforts. Keep in mind beach clean ups cannot start until the Clearwater Marine Aquarium says the beach is open after marking turtle nests. This can take longer after a storm. Please keep out of the way of staff, if you see a blocked access choose another one, we will get it open as soon as we can!

BEACHES:

  • Beach Access Points: Public Works in currently on the beach unblocking access points and placing out trash cans.
  • Turtle Nests: Many nests were uncovered by the tides, if you see an unmarked nest please contact CMA’s 24-hr Rescue Hotline at 727 441-1790 x 1.
  • Rip Tides: Beach is still at risk for rip tides. Please use caution, especially around the John’s Pass Park area.
