December 11, 2020- Updated letter from November 25, 2020

Dear Madeira Beach Property Owner,

The City of Madeira Beach will be continuing to waive permit fees for any interior demo and/or restoration repairs, due to Tropical Storm Eta, for the next 30 days, and will expire on Monday, January 11th, 2021.

Residents are required to at least register with the City’s Building Department and supply documentation/pictures of the damage before work can take place. Please provide the following information via email: BuildingDept@madeirabeachfl.gov or in person at City Hall, 300 Municipal Dr.

  • Submit a Permit Application for the repair(s)- fee will be waived
  • A sketch of the damaged area(s) that needs work including any and all dimensions
  • Pictures of damage
  • If you are using a licensed contractor, the contractor must apply for a permit
*Unlicensed contractors and non-permitted work will not be reimbursed.

For exterior renovations such as fencing, a current survey of the property is also needed. When applying for any permit, please state “T.S. ETA” as the cause.

We also ask that you fill out the survey Pinellas County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) via link below. This will help Pinellas County properly inventory the impact of the storm and hopefully qualify for FEMA funding assistance. To access the survey please click here.

If you have any questions please contact the Building Department: 727-391-9951 or email BuildingDept@madeirabeachfl.gov.

Any permits submitted with “T.S. ETA”, will be priority and issued as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Bob Daniels
